▼ Chinese model brand ZZA has just delivered its new original kit, the 1/100 GUS (sample version), which arrived at our review desk right before the National Day holidays.

Although the design carries a few familiar vibes, the overall shape and color scheme have evolved into a very mature, distinct ZZA-style mecha aesthetic. Let’s take a closer look at this long-awaited comeback kit!

▼ The outer box is surprisingly compact and uses a drawer-style design.

▼ A total of 21 model kits are included, with the part count close to MG standards. Assembly takes roughly 2–3 hours to complete.

▼ The kits finish is clean and precise—consistent with ZZA’s usual high-quality output.

▼ It’s a pity that the two clear parts don’t feature any fluorescent coating this time.

▼ The inner frame parts use standard gate placement, while outer armor pieces employ hidden gate design for a cleaner build.

▼ From the pilot figure’s detailing, you can see the impressive level of precision achieved in this release.

▼ Super Stylish “Sunglasses Mech”!

Despite being a 1/100 scale model, GUS stands at an impressive 21cm tall—a large and solid presence on the shelf. The build fit is smooth and tight, though all the joints are made from ABS, without the use of POM material seen in recent kits.

The armor combines teal blue and Titans blue, giving it a striking “Death Knight” vibe. Even without decals, the surface finish already feels complete and premium. The slim torso and thick calves create a very fashionable silhouette—surely, there’s more hidden inside those legs!

▼ The internal frame features detailed mechanical sculpting—could this be teasing a future clear armor version?

▼ The head unit has a spherical visor covering the sensor. Hmm... looks suspiciously like my home security camera!

▼ The waist, elbows, knees, and ankles all feature working hydraulic pistons, adding a strong mechanical realism.

▼ The hip joints include a pull-down mechanism, allowing for natural kneeling poses.

▼ Even the cockpit is fully detailed with an opening hatch and internal gear-linked mechanism that slides the pilot seat forward when opened—very impressive engineering for this scale.

▼ The head design carries a strong “Sniper GM” influence. The targeting sensor on the forehead, however, lacks a movable tracking mechanism. Sculpted panel lines and mechanical details are crisp and clean throughout.

▼ The forearm stores a standard beam saber, though it would’ve been even cooler if it could flip forward like a hidden blade

▼ Inside the knees is storage for a massive beam sword, and the side of the calf hides a mysterious trapezoid slot—perhaps a hint at future armor expansion?

▼ The large sword can even be stored in reverse within the knee, serving as a hidden melee weapon.

▼ The rear skirt armor opens to reveal small thrusters, and the lower back includes a standard MG stand connector.

▼ Weapons include a rifle and shield, both standard but solidly designed. The backpack features six thrusters but no other moving gimmicks

▼ Articulation & Poseability

The head, chest, and waist each feature wide-range ball joints, allowing for dynamic posing.

▼ The waist includes a two-step extension system for deeper bends and crouches.

▼ Elbows bend up to 120°, wrists can tilt inward, and the shoulders extend outward by about 45°, with arms able to raise to 90°.

▼ Each hand can bend outward by about 90°, and an optional MG-style articulated hand set is also included.

▼ Due to the hydraulic pistons in the ankles, foot tilt range is limited, but the thruster pods behind the legs feature minor sliding mechanisms. The knees bend to about 90°, but forcing further might pop the pistons out.

▼ With its flexible waist and hip joints, GUS can easily perform kneeling or ground-pounding poses. When paired with the massive curved beam sword, the presence and dynamism are absolutely striking.
