The Version 2.0 features an all-new armor design and support mech — Chenghuang: Tiger Might — both adopting a more futuristic and tech-inspired aesthetic. Notably, Yunmei’s overall design bears a strong resemblance to Mega Man ZX, and by removing parts of the outer armor, a lighter, less-armored form can be achieved. However, the sky-blue color scheme may not appeal to everyone.

▼ This time, all four of Yunmei’s pre-painted facial expressions are very appealing, and the hair sculpt has also seen a noticeable improvement in detail.

▼ I personally really like the battle helmet this time. The design of the visor is a big plus, and the fox-ear shape on the top of the helmet echoes well with Chenghuang’s design.

▼ The interchangeable faceplate mechanism this time is very simple and efficient. However, the ball-joint used for the single ponytail is quite fragile, so extra care is needed when adjusting the angle or installing it.

▼ This time, the more tech-oriented design thoughtfully includes a large number of 3mm ports, laying the groundwork for future DIY equipment customization.

▼ The back thruster can also have its installation direction adjusted using the included connector parts.

▼ The design of the legs emphasizes greater mobility.

▼ To enhance the expandability with the main body and Guerilla Cannon armament, the kit includes the following five types of connectors, allowing for free combination and customization.

▼ The divine beast Chenghuang measures approximately 18 cm in length, and its design has undergone a major transformation compared to version 1.0. Visually, it now more closely resembles the “fox-like spirit” described in the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shan Hai Jing). Like Yunmei, Chenghuang features multiple 3mm ports throughout its body for flexible equipment customization. However, there is no stand port on the abdomen, so it cannot be directly mounted to the main display stand.

▼ By using the included 3mm connectors, Chenghuang’s limbs can be mounted onto Yunmei’s back. Although this feature is not mentioned in the instruction manual, it opens up new possibilities for interaction between the mecha girl and the divine beast.

▼ Chenghuang’s neck and limbs are equipped with wide-range swivel joints for articulation, most of which are made of POM material, providing excellent holding strength.

▼ There is a telescopic mechanism inside the shoulder joints of the limbs, which enhances both articulation and ground contact range.

▼ The torso and tail can also be extended to increase the range of lateral movement.

▼ You can choose to install a thruster at the rear, and its shape seems to pay tribute to the concept of a fox’s tail.

▼ Chenghuang itself has a relatively high range of articulation, but its own weight and the lack of a dedicated support stand still limit its expressiveness — which I personally find a bit unfortunate.
