▼ In its fully combined form, the black-and-gold color scheme paired with the heavily modified, sharp-edged design gives off a very commanding presence. The overall paintwork is just as elaborate as the original color version, if not more so.
▼ The gold tones are divided into multiple shades — including a bluish gold for the main body, dark gold accents, and two different champagne gold tones on the wings. As for the black, while glossy black dominates most of the body, parts such as the elephant shield and the triceratops feature distinct dark metallic finishes. In terms of paint application, it actually appears even more intricate than the original color version.

▼ Like the later version of G-01, this release also includes a light-up head sculpt. The eye illumination has been changed to red, and the brightness is quite strong. It offers three lighting modes: constant on, flashing, and breathing.
▼ As a result, it does consume button batteries relatively quickly. If you plan to display it in a cabinet for a long period, it might be better to use the non-light-up (transformation) head sculpt instead.

▼ The overall detailing and paintwork hold up very well under close inspection. The chest armor, which was prone to falling off in the G-01 era, has been improved and fixed this time. However, the glossy black sections do tend to attract fingerprints quite easily.

▼ In terms of combination play, it retains the same Dragon-Humanoid form and Beast Tank mode as the previous release. Under the black-and-gold color scheme, these forms give off a distinctly different vibe. That said, once fully combined, it’s probably not something you’d frequently take apart for further play.
